At the core of CEI’s work is the improvement of policies, practice and programs to change lives for the better. Even once the evidence base is understood, used to inform decisions and effectively implemented, it is vital to continue to understand what is – and isn’t – working in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.

We use rigorous methods and tools to trial, test and evaluate policies, practice and programs to ensure they are delivering the best possible outcomes for the communities they serve. Our work helps to determine what works, identifying where approaches need to be changed or expanded to have maximum impact. We can then use what we learn through this process to continue to build the evidence base for decision making.
