Portrait of India Thompson

India has worked across a variety of sectors, including education, children services, integrated care, and mental health, supporting the development and evaluation of programmes targeted at vulnerable children, parents, and practitioners.

In her current role at CEI, she has worked on multiple complex evaluations, such as a cluster RCT of ‘Fostering Connections’, examining the impact of trauma-informed training and support for social workers in youth in care in family settings for YEF, as well as other children’s social care evaluations focused on foster carer recruitment and retention, and kinship carer services. Her portfolio also includes systematic reviews examining interventions that improve outcomes for kinship carers and the children in their care, as well as for foster carers and adoptive parents.

She is a Trustee for the Social Research Association (SRA), as well as an Ambassador for Nuffield’s Emerging Researcher Network (ERN).
