CEI CEO Dr Robyn Mildon explains in plain language the vital role of implementation science in closing the “know-do” gap, in the latest Amplifying Research podcast episode.
Implementation science offers evidence-based strategies and actions to support research innovations reaching those who need them most, “rather than what we call 'spray and pray' – disseminate as much as you can and just really hope that [people] do it – which unfortunately we know doesn't work,” says Robyn.
“There are things that are well evidenced that aren't getting implemented. Then there are things that are well evidenced, getting implemented poorly, and then there are things that are well evidenced being ignored.”
