CEI's UK and Europe Director Jane Lewis recently took part in a panel session at the 3rd UK Implementation Science Research Conference focused on ‘Implementation science for health and social care: maximising relevance for practice and policy.'
The conference was organised by the Centre for Implementation Science, King's College London and supported by the NIHR ARC South London, the UK Implementation Society, and BMC.
The panel was chaired by Dr Geoffrey Curran, Director of the Center for Implementation Research at UAMS - University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, together with Dr Greg Aarons, Co-Director of the UC San Diego Dissemination and Implementation Science Center (UCSD-DISC), Katie Burke, board member of the European Implementation Collaborative, and Dr Deborah Ghate, Chair, UK Implementation Society.
Two questions were posed:
1 In the context of Covid 19 is it becoming easier or harder for research to inform practice (and practice to inform research)?
2 What is Covid 19 teaching us about health and social inequalities (and how does implementation science address them)?
The panel was recorded and is available here.
