Trybe is a social service agency in Singapore that empowers young people to overcome adversity. CEI has been engaged with one of Trybe’s youth outreach initiatives, the Chrysalis program, which provides community-based interventions for young people aged 12 to 21 years reduce risky behaviours and improve their resilience.

The Chrysalis team works closely with a young person’s family, providing emotional support, helping improve family relationships, and supporting the young person to grow and thrive in their school or workplace.

Since April 2022, CEI has supported Trybe in their aim to improve outcomes for their clients, through the equipping of the team in better monitoring and evaluation of the Chrysalis program.

“CEI worked collaboratively with Trybe to examine key program activities, prioritise program outcomes, and identify tools the team would use to monitor outcomes for their youth clients,” explains Dr Cheryl Seah, the CEI Director leading the Chrysalis work.

“We’ve seen how the Chrysalis team has benefited from articulating and documenting their approach in intervening, as well as the outcomes achieved for their diverse group of clients with individualised needs.”

“Our team looks forward to a systematic way of reviewing our effectiveness and to using this information for future iteration and improvement of the Chrysalis program,” said Bee Lian, Trybe's Director of Services and Programs.
